"America's obsession with religion stems from their ultimate fear of death.  That state of finality, finished if you will, becomes a religion in itself.  The tragic irony of it all is; they worship the dead in fear of becoming...dead.

...I inhaled, I exhaled.  Then I died...twice.
I am as final as you can get."

nothing good can come from Nazareth

Unless you’re in your mid to late 90’s no American has ever lived in a Democracy. The real (new) definition of Democracy is; a military industrialized complex influenced by religion, the Federal Reserve…and the C.I.A. (watch President Eisenhower‘s farewell address to the nation as definitive proof). President Woodrow Wilson saw to that in 1913 when he passed the Federal Reserve act. Call it Fascism, Socialism, Communism, or even…Federalism…it is what it is. In this country, when you turn 18 and get a job you’re subject to paying our nations debt. Strange that its still called a Democracy when no one in this country knows what its like not to have to pay Federal Income tax. 1913 was the last time this country was a “Democracy” in the purest sense of the word. More strange is the fact that our fore-fathers didn’t even want a Democracy, and with good reason. They knew and understood the discriminatory values that a Democratic society would inherit while under the influence of the church. Folks like Ben Franklin wanted a Republic. A government ruled by laws, not religion…let the citizens decide whether or not they wanted to believe in any kind of a god. So hypocritical and brainwashed we Americans have become (because of the church) that we act all appalled and disgusted when other countries kill and torture. So we come to the rescue of these countries in peril by basically…killing and torturing. But that’s ok because we kill and torture in the name of “God”. Even better is the fact that the religious sector approves of it. One of the most hypocritical, dysfunctional, discriminatory money making machines in the United States, and the world for that matter.

I’ve often wondered how much more cash I’d receive on pay day if our beloved government would tax the church? Especially when you take into consideration that its one of the top 10 money making entities on the planet. We think we live in a Democracy because we’re allowed to vote for our so-called leaders. Left-wing, right-wing, hawk, dove, democratic, republican, conservative, liberal, independent, etc etc. It really makes no difference. Our government is a puppet regime dictated to by the corporate elite. It’s the Rockefeller’s and the Rothschild’s that decide policy in this country, and throughout the world. Hence; a bunch of dictators behind the scenes of government. The “New World Order” the first President Bush (as if we needed more than one) spoke of back in the early 90’s. And to secure a “New World Order” we’ve taken on the role as the worlds police. Which means every 5 years or so we have to go and blow some country up (in the name of God mind you) to justify our already bloated defense budget. Most Americans don’t realize that we wouldn’t need a big military if we didn’t have the Federal Reserve breathing down our necks. The Federal Reserve (with the aid of the C.I.A.) stage these catastrophic events of good versus evil via an endless stream of propaganda through the media. Every decade a new enemy emerges…Nazi’s, Communists, Terrorists, etc etc. While playing both sides of the fence. I mean…its common knowledge that Rockefeller bankrolled the Nazi’s during the 30’s. And the debate still rages via the internet of how the C.I.A. bankrolled “911” (Google Alex Jones). Don’t take my word for it, but ask yourself how film maker Aaron Russo knew (via Nick Rockefeller) of a terrorist attack on U.S. soil 6 months before it occurred?

There’s a reason why the Federal Reserve (the corporate elite) doesn’t tax the church. In order to play the “good versus evil” card they need the church. These are shrewd, intelligent business men who obviously studied the Roman Empire in great detail. The Romans realized that religion was great way to influence and manipulate the masses through fear (just like our new terror color code chart). Resulting in fewer casualties of their own, and more income through taxation to feed their army. The Roman Empire was in a sense, the framework of the Federal Reserve. The Romans didn’t even care about some whacked out Palestinians’ (Jesus Christ) new religious rhetoric. In fact, they encouraged it. The more religion the better. That is until Christ started to disrupt the market place and the Roman military (that occupied Jerusalem) with his mindless ramblings of “God”. Pilot viewed him as a revolutionist, a danger to establishment and sentenced him to death. Funny in that Americans scoff at the ideology of Jim Jones and Joseph Smith (just a couple of many in an endless supply of fake prophets). But will believe the ramblings of Jesus Christ? When was the last time anyone took anything serious out of the Middle East, other than a terrorist threat or lack of oil? I thought Horus was the original Son of God? I mean after all…he was born on the eve of Christmas, walked on water, raised the dead, sacrificed himself and blah blah blah. Is Jesus Christ really any different than say…Jim Baker? No. Christ was just a little more extreme, that’s all. And in the process, became what most Middle Easterners aspire to be…a martyr.

Besides Christians didn’t want to worship Horus. He was far too flamboyant. He wore make-up and jewelry, meaning…he must be gay or something. Parrish the thought of a Christian worshipping a homo-sexual. Well…with the exception of say…Michael Jackson. Christian’s have a soft spot for pedophiles. No wait, that’s a Catholic issue isn’t it? Well, who can keep up with all the corruption and sex scandals in the church? However, in keeping up with the zeitgeist. The church has now accepted the fact that UFO’s might really exist. Well, they were perhaps forced to considering 17 percent of the population in the United States believe extraterrestrials exist. And of that 17 percent, 16 percent don’t believe in any kind of a “God”. That percent is bigger than any minority group in the United States. Meaning…a lot of voters. Which in turn spells trouble not only for the church…but the Federal Reserve as well. Not to mention the fact that NASA is having a hard time trying to convince the viewing public that what they’re seeing floating around in space isn’t “debris” or “ice crystals“, but some form of a living organism…or, what most USAF pilots refer to as “critters”. Speaking of critters, instead of the Bald Eagle as our nations symbol…how about an Ostrich? No, because of Puppet err President Obama’s rock star status, we’re still just a nation of sheep. Meanwhile, the church is scratching their collective heads and thinking to themselves, we need a new messiah. I wonder who that guy was that blew himself up in that car bomb last week in Lebanon? …nothing good can come from Nazareth.

Note to my brother; maybe aliens really did build the Pyramids.

The Amazon.com Debate

Zoe Lund's exploration of an egoist cop on drugs

One thing is certain as far as the reviewers at Amazon.com are concerned. You either love or hate this movie (Bad Lieutenant). There really is no happy medium. The problem here is; it's loved or hated for all the wrong reasons. What most reviewers forget is, this is a character study of a really bad police officer. Not an "action/adventure" film with explosions and car chases. The three areas of concern for most of the reviewers are Harvey Keitel's full-frontal nudity, the Nun rape scene and religious aspect of the film. These are just my theories concerning these particular segments so I apologize if I offend any of you. Only, I thought most of the reviewers at Amazon.com over-analyzed the "rape" scene and Keitel's "full-frontal" nude scene and used both sequences as the foundation for their critical reviews of the film. Totally missing the point of both scenes. I don't believe Abel Ferrara used Keitel's full-frontal nude scene for "shock value". I believe it was put there to emphasize (exposed in the purest sense) just what an out-of-control drunken, drug addict he really was. I know, I know...you'll argue that Keitel's jerking-off on the side of a car while forcing two girls to watch would have sufficed or, snorting a line of cocaine off the family photo...only...again, this was a character study of a really bad cop.

As for the infamous Nun "rape" scene, the reviewers at Amazon.com...right along with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant missed the whole point entirely. Although no fault of their own, however...the scene makes more sense if you've seen it before Schooly D's "Kashmir" riff was edited out. Page & Plant demanded the video (when it was first released in VHS format) be yanked from the shelves when they learned that a sample of their song was being used as the background score of a Nun being raped. Considering the historical significance of it...Kashmir being a (sacred) region that was conquered and destroyed (essentially "raped") by emperor Akbar and his band of thugs during the late 1500's. The Catholic church being conquered and destroyed (the Nun raped) by two thugs. I believe the scene loses some of its impact and meaning without Schooly D's (Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir") sample. I've never seen the film on the "Independent Film Channel" (just the theatrical and original VHS version) ...however, I can only assume most reviewers have only seen the edited version as most VHS copies were destroyed and the DVD score was re-done without Schooly D's ("Signifying Rapper") riff. Ironic that Page & Plant would later allow some hack like Puffdaddy to sample "Kashmir" for a cheesy re-make of "Godzilla", while ignoring the historical significance of their own material. But that's what greed will do.

Concerning the religious aspect of the film, one reviewer made the suggestion that you watch the film with your children. This isn't a film to sit your children in front of, and deserved the NC-17 rating it received. I've read alot of reviews at Amazon.com concerning this film and the references to Christ, the church, Christianity and religion in general. Only...it really has nothing to do with religion at all (if taken in the same spirit as say; "The Last Temptation Of Christ"). Keitel's character exploits the church as a means of trying to solve the case. The day after the crime occurs he states that; "the church is a racket...I'm Catholic", indicating very early on that he doesn't really care at all that the Nun got raped. It was all about trying to solve the crime as soon as possible to collect the reward money that the church put up so he could pay off his bookie. His revelation with Christ only occurs when he's at the end of his rope...like a coward backed into a corner. He has no shred of moral integrity what-so-ever, and reaffirms it (as if he needed to) in the end when he lets the guys that raped the Nun go. I agree that this is a 5 star movie...but find it quite ironic that most reviewers at Amazon.com give it five stars for all wrong reasons. Keitel's character is a scum bag throughout...and deserved the bullet he received in the end. As for the negative reviews, I believe most reviewers waited an hour and a half for some special effects (something their accustomed to when they watch a movie), and when nothing exploded...they felt ripped off.

A History Of Political Violence Fueled By Religious Rhetoric;

and the consequences of "staying the course"

From the moment the Pilgrims landed (history states it was December 11, 1620) the "cowboy and Indian" wars began. Alot of the confrontations that occurred during the post-landing of 1620 was the inspiration of many Hollywood films starring John Wayne. White Euro-immigrants slaughtered all the native "American" Indians and the ones that survived were rounded up and put on "reservations" or forced to fight with the Blacks (who were predominatly used as slave labor) against the British. During all this fighting the European immigrants (mostly British folks) formed colonies up and down the east coast and by 1775 were ready to declare their own independence. Only Great Britain wasn't too keen on these renagades from Europe forming their own country (mostly economic reasons), thus forming the foundation of what was known as the American war of independence. Or, what is better known as "The Revolutionary War".

The Revolutionary war raged on long after the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. Some argue that if it wasn't for our allies (France, Spain and those Dutch folks with their wooden shoes) America would have never gained independence. It was the Paris Treaty of 1783 that finally ended the war and was confirmed by the U.S. congress in 1784. Thus formally ending "The American Revolutionary War" between Great Britain and the United States of America that fought against British rule on the very soil that we live today...December 7, 2006. So here's something for President George Bush and every conservative that supports the Iraqi war effort to ponder...between the years 1620 thru 1783, (which happens to be 143 years) how many millions of American lives were lost to form our own democratic society? How many gallons of blood were spilled on our nations soil to form the country other nations envy and love to hate today? "Staying the course" will only invite more violence and cost American taxpayers billions more on top of the billions its already spent to support a make-shift government thats certain to fail the moment we leave Iraq.

What i'm trying to say is; it took almost 150 years at the expense of untold millions of human lives to form the democratic society we enjoy today...and I haven't even gotton to the Civil War part yet. And George Bush and the Republican party believes Iraq can accomplish all this in a few years if we "stay the course"? Isn't that what we tried to do during the Vietnam conflict? Did we really let the South Vietnamese people down in 1975? In order for a democratic society to form and exist, it has to rise up from the population. It has to be sustained from within. You just can't dump 100,000 soldiers on a counrty ruled by a dictator and proclaim freedom for all. It doesn't work that way. I know, I know, some die-hard conservatives will argue that Vietnam represented a strategic point of interest to the United States and point to Eisenhower's "domino theory" which in retrospect, still makes no sense because thats not even the reason why Nixon prolonged the conflict. Anyone who has seen the documentary "The 10,000 Day War" would realize that Vietnam (concerning US interest anyways) was big business and showcased a continuous threatening reminder to Russia during the cold war that our strength and determination would not be swayed by communism and had nothing to do with freedom for the Vietnamese people of the south. It was all about global politics and our stature in the world. Why do you think France stayed in Vietnam for as long as they did? To hang onto that last shred of being known as a "superpower", that is until it bankrupt the country in the 50's. Much the same way Afghanistan bankrupt Russia in the 80's. It was all about showing the rest of the world (mostly Russia and China) how powerful we really are. It had nothing to do with freedom or preventing the spread of communism. Look no further than Castro's communistic Cuba off the coast of Florida.

President Kennedy was absolutley right...Vietnam was in the midst of a civil war and that we had no business getting in the middle of it. I only bring up the documentary "The 10,000 Day War" because thats something president Bush could watch concerning global politics. He's made it abundantly clear that he doesn't read much...so look and listen. The good people of Iraq have no concept what-so-ever of what "freedom" is or represents. They eat, sleep, go to work and watch TV just like us. The issue at hand is obvious...OIL, only we disguise it as freedom for Iraq which by the way has nothing to do with "9/11". Our government turned Saddam Hussien into what he is (a dictator of an oil-rich nation) or was. We built him up, supplied the weapons he used to fight our common enemy (Iran during the 1980's, because of the hostage crisis of 1979) and even supplied him with the chemical weapons he used against Iranian soldiers and his own people. And all of the sudden Saddam Hussien is a cruel and evil dictator and must be removed from power? What ever happened to Osama bin-Laden? A friend of mine told me not long ago that if the people of Iraq wanted Hussein removed from power, why didn't they just shoot him? Most all of the citizens of Baghdad walk around with AK47's. You would think if the people of Iraq were concerned about democracy as opposed to tyranny they would have leveled their sites on Hussein and squeezed off a round or two. My guess is the reason they ("they" being the citizens of Iraq) didn't assasinate him was because of the infamous file footage that exists of Donald Rumsfeld shaking Husseins hand during the Reagan administration. In those days (the 80's) the White House considered Saddam the lesser of the two evils. The other being the Ayatollah Khomeini.

Anyone who is educated in Middle Eastern politics would tell you that U.S. presence is not accepted nor recommened on any level. They see us as occupiers...crusaders. The oil rich countries of the Middle East will trade with us, but will not tolerate any advise on how they should live or spend the money they make from the oil they trade. Our presence in Saudi-Arabia alone is the sole reason for "9/11". Just ask Osama bin Laden. The real underlying issue here is the Jewish/Palestinian conflict. Thats where this cancer in the Middle East lies, that and our presence. Until that issue is resolved the violence will never end. Whats disturbing is the United States acts as though this has only been going on since the end of World War II and something as simplistic as dividing the land will resolve the current problem. Nothing could be further from the truth. The problem is religion. Whats going on in the Middle East has been going on for thousands of years and is basically no different than whats going on in the United States...only we call it racism. Religion is and has always been the real root of all that is evil. If the population on this planet could get past the fact that science does not support the existence of any kind of a "God" then, and only then will the blood shed end. It's all about their religion being better than ours, or...here in the U.S., my race is better than yours.

Just remember...science doesn't lie...it's never had a motive to. But religion does have a motive to, history has already proven that.

post script;

isn't it ironic that our parents will wait for the right moment (so as not to hurt our fragile feelings) to tell us that Santa Claus doesn't really exist (as if 8 tiny reindeer could propell some fat guy into space), but will maintain to this day that Jesus Christ (under the guidance of God) could actually walk on water. I'd say that pretty much puts God in proper perspective, rendering him nothing more than the adult version of Santa Claus. Merry Christmas!...no...wait, Happy Holidays.
